Brighton ended their seven-game winless run as they got the better of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates.
Leandro Trossard made it 1-0 to the Seagulls in the opening half. Arsenal looked to have equalised just before the break but Gabriel Martinelli’s goal was chalked off by VAR.
The Seagulls doubled their advantage in the 66th minute. Enock Mwepu found the net from the edge of the penalty area. Martin Odegaard scored a consolation for Arsenal in the 89th minute.
Arsenal are now level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur having played the same number of games.
