Arsenal ‘talk to agent’ of striker as Inter open €70m door

Arsenal have ‘talked to the agent’ of Lautaro Martinez’s agent ahead of a potential summer move for the Argentinian.

Martinez could leave in the upcoming transfer window despite signing a new deal in October which expires in June 2026.

Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) claim Inter Milan will allow the 24-year-old to leave should a club offer €70m for him.

The report claims there are two clubs interested as things stand: Atletico Madrid and Arsenal.

Diego Simeone has long been an admirer of the striker and it’s claimed the La Liga side will likely return with a bid for Martinez in the summer.

But with Arsenal in the market for a new striker after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to Barcelona in January, it’s explained that Mikel Arteta’s side have ‘talked to the agent’ of Martinez to take the first step.

It is revealed however that Arsenal are yet to make a concrete move.

The report also states that Paul Dybala, who’s been linked with Liverpool and Spurs amid his contract standoff with Juventus, could be sought by inter as a replacement for Martinez.

Meanwhile, Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun thinks he has “become a lot more mature” on loan at Middlesbrough this season.

Balogun opened the scoring in Friday’s 4-1 win over Andorra for the England U21s and feels he has raised his game.

“I have definitely become a lot more mature,” said the 20-year-old, who has two goals in his last four games for Boro.

“Playing in the Under-23s I could get away with things sometimes but transitioning to men’s football I’ve noticed you need to play with your head a bit more and know when to do certain things.

“My game’s come on but I know there’s still a lot more I can do to improve. I wouldn’t say every player needs a loan. Every player has a different journey. Looking at mine, at the time a loan was the right thing to do so I went ahead with it.

“It’s an opportunity to learn. Any opportunity to learn is worth it. I wouldn’t say I go into games thinking I need to impress. I’m in this position because of my quality.

“It’s not something I need to show, I just need to do it on a more consistent basis.”
