According to reports, Anthony Martial’s situation has gone from “bad to worse” since his move in January from Man Utd to Spanish side Sevilla.
The Frenchman barely featured for Man Utd at the start of this season. In December, he made it clear that he was intending to leave the club in January.
Martial got his wish as he joined Sevilla on loan before the end of the winter transfer window.
The attacker is said to have snubbed the likes of Barcelona and Juventus in the process. He made a bright start at Sevilla but he has struggled in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old has only been involved in two goals from his nine appearances for Sevilla. He played 82 minutes as they were beaten 1-0 by Barcelona on Sunday.
Spanish outlet Marca (via Sport Witness) are reporting that since joining Sevilla, things have gone from ‘bad to worse’ for Martial.
It is said that he has expressed his ‘frustration’ and that every obstacle that comes his way ‘appears like a mountain’.
It has already been reported that Sevilla are not considering signing Martial permanently this summer.
Elsewhere, former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor claims that Man Utd are “the new Arsenal”, while he also criticised Ralf Rangnick.
The Red Devils suffered another blow on Saturday in their bid to make the top four this season after Leicester City secured a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Man Utd are now three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and fifth-placed Arsenal with the latter having two games in hand on Rangnick’s side.
It is looking increasingly tricky for the Red Devils to qualify for next season’s Champions League and Agbonlahor thinks failing to finish fourth would be a “disaster” for Man Utd.
Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT: “Where’s the Manchester United fight to try and get in the Champions League? Manchester United not finishing fourth is a disaster, a disaster for that football club.
“They could be playing the Mickey Mouse cup [Europa Conference League] on a Thursday afternoon. It’s like Manchester United are the Arsenal now.
“They’re the new Arsenal. Arsenal have pushed Manchester United down and now it’s looking bright for Arsenal.”
Agbonlahor thought Man Utd were “painful” to watch against Leicester.
He added: “I just look at how the mighty have fallen. Manchester United, you’ve never seen a performance like that.
“First half, no intensity, no one trying to get the ball back, it was painful watching Manchester United playing a false nine. I don’t know if they’ve been watching Man City this season and think they can do it but that was painful first half.
“Marcus Rashford – [Edinson] Cavani and [Cristiano] Ronaldo are out and Rashford’s not starting. Honestly, the tactical decisions from Rangnick were a disgrace and them set of players, they’re selling Manchester United fans short.”
