Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is reportedly ‘crazy’ about Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has been heavily linked with Man Utd.
The Serbian midfielder joined Lazio from Genk for around £10m and has made 288 appearances for the Serie A club.
He has been the subject of speculation for a few years now with the Red Devils regularly linked to the 27-year-old.
However, La Lazio Siamo Noi (via Sport Witness) claim that Tottenham ‘cannot be left out’ in the race to sign the midfielder.
They state that the Italian outfit ‘know’ Milinkovic-Savic can leave in the summer window and are ‘waiting for the right offer’ to come in.
Lazio chief Claudio Lotito will be willing to negotiate if he receives a bid of around €75-80m.
The player has a ‘will’ to change clubs this summer and apparently ‘really likes’ the prospect of signing for Serie A rivals Juventus.
Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running to sign the former Genk man. Lotito is ‘mainly betting’ on PSG, over Man Utd, due to their ‘financial muscle’.
Spurs head coach Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici are ‘crazy’ about Milinkovic-Savic as the Premier League club will ‘really make an attempt’ to sign the Serbian.
‘A lot will depend’ on Spurs qualifying for next season’s Champions League. They are currently leading the race to finish fourth above Arsenal, Man Utd and West Ham.
“As long as Antonio Conte’s there, I don’t think Harry Kane would go anywhere,” Bent said on talkSPORT.
“But if worse came to worse and Harry Kane did leave, and go elsewhere, if they can get Lukaku, you’ve seen what Conte can get out of Romelu Lukaku.
“If there was an opportunity and Kane leaves and Conte can get Lukaku, I’d go out all day to get it, all day.”
