Fred’s equaliser cancelled out Kelechi Iheancho’s opener as Man Utd were held by Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City at Old Trafford.
The first hour of the game was flat but there was thankfully an entertaining climax.
Leicester went ahead as James Maddison’s pinpoint cross was headed into the net by Iheanacho.
The Foxes were only in front for three minutes. Man Utd equaliser came as Bruno Fernandes had a shot saved by Kasper Schmeichel. The ‘keeper could only palm the ball to Fred, who smashed the ball in from close range.
The visitors looked like they had regained the lead with ten minutes to go. Maddison found the net but his goal was ruled out as Iheanacho was adjudged to have fouled Raphael Varane in the build-up.
