West Ham are one of many Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, according to reports.

Diaby came through the ranks at PSG but he has been with Bayer Leverkusen since 2019.

Why Liverpool and Man City are favouring respect over rivalry

The Frenchman has been terrific for the Bundesliga side this season. He has scored 16 and provided 11 assists in 37 appearances in 2021/22.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and Liverpool have all been linked with Diaby, who is under contract at Bayer until 2025.

And Calciomercato (via HITC) have added West Ham to the mix. David Moyes currently has Jarrod Bowen, Nikola Vlasic, Andriy Yarmolenko and Said Benrahma available to him in Diaby’s position.

Speaking about the 22-year-old, Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong recently said: “He’s an amazing player – it’s really hard to play against him. He’s fast, he can dribble, he can finish, he can run behind defenders.

“Moussa is a really, really positive guy – he brings a lot to the team.”

Elsewhere, Kevin Campbell has slammed Mikel Arteta for starting Granit Xhaka at left-back in Arsenal’s defeat to Brighton.

The Gunners were abject at best as they were beaten 2-1 by Graham Potter’s side at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Arteta opted to move Xhaka from centre-midfield to left-back, leaving Sambi Lokonga exposed in the middle of the pitch.

“Arteta is getting criticised and rightly so,” Campbell told Football Insider. “That one is on the manager.

“If Partey is not there you need Granit Xhaka on the pitch. Coming from me, that is saying something.

“Xhaka has been a constant in midfield along with Partey. So to take him out of there to play left-back weakens us. That is what the big issue is.

“The centre of the pitch is the engine room. Xhaka is not the best player but he can do a job in there. He is also experienced so he could help Sambi Lokonga. Sambi looked like he was on his own in there. It was not right.”
